- Is there any CAC reader with software that is compatible with the iMac (Intel) desktops? I know ActiveClient is functional with PC's, but which software would be useful for CAC card readers for the Mac? Kind regards, Sandranel. IMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4) Posted on Jul 21, 2015 8:20 AM.
I am trying to use my cac card (smart card) on my MacBook (late 2008, intel) but the card is not showing up in keychain since I upgraded to Yosemite. I've already downloaded the required certificates and middleware and have been able to access the card with no issues prior to the update. Keychain shows SystemCACertificates with all the certificates, and keychain firstaid came back with no issues. When I look in System information the usb section shows my CAC reader as SCR33xx v2.0 USB SC Reader (SCM SCR3310 v2) so I know that it isn't a hardware issue. When I insert my card into the reader the light turns on but after a couple seconds the light goes out and nothing ever comes up in keychain. Any ideas of how I can fix this?

Is there any CAC reader with software that is compatible with the iMac (Intel) desktops? I have colleagues who are attempting to use it to log with their ID cards and nothing occurs. I know ActiveClient is functional with PC's, but which software would be useful for CAC card readers for the Mac? Some legacy versions of Mac OS X provided a partial support for CAC cards. Depending on your card and of your Mac OS X version you may not need to install a middleware.

Upgraded a Macbook Pro from OSX 10.9 to OSX 10.10 to start working out the issues with Citrix Receiver for our ICA/HVD users that connect to NMCI Citrix Access Gateways (HVD).

System was upgraded to include the PKard Middleware to v1.6 and Citrix Receiver to v11.9 Tech Preview.

I am able to access the Citrix Gateways using the certificate credentials on the Smartcard. Marvin ebook reader for mac. However, Windows 7 is unable to read the certificates (using the CAC certificate to log into the windows desktop application). The smart card is recognized when inserted / removed from the reader. Ebook reader for all formats mac. But Windows 7 Enterprise is not able to use the certificate.
A few attempts I did get the 'No Valid Certificates Found' message but haven't been able to recreate that environment. All other attempts the HVD hangs when looking for the Smart Card.
I did turn on full logging on Citrix Receiver, this is the final entry that keeps repeating in the log file. (I am unable to attach it because the file is 11.8MB, my previous one was 1.8GB when I just let receiver hang.) The PROXYrecv log entries continue to repeat in the log file.
Current Upgraded System Configuration:
System Version: MacBookPro 8,3 17', 2.3GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB, 1TB SSD
OS Version: OSX 10.10 (Yosemite Full Release)
Citrix Version: Receiver 11.9 Tech Preview
Cac Reader For Mac Os X Yosemite Download
Smart Card: Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 Dual
Middleware: PKard v1.6 (Previously v1.4)
Reader: Identive SCR3500
Note that this configuration did work properly with Citrix Receiver v11.8, PKard v1.4, and OSX 10.9
